Thanks to La Maison Rémy Martin for an exceptional experience!
Hello. Remember me? That girl who flooded your feed with NY pics? I'm baaaack and ready to tell you ALL about it. Ok not all of it in this very blog, but about one night in particular: my night with Rémy Martin! It was a stunning visual and sensory adventure like none other I've had before. Oh and btw it was completely FREE.
I know we all know I get a lot of really cool experiences in my line of work, but NY is it's own beast and I was determined to show myself and you that we can still live that VIP life without the whole town knowing who you are (yet). 😎 How'd I find this? A quick Google search of 'Free events NY' and the timeframe, it was that simple. When I headed to the website I picked my date and time slot and I was in. A forward-on to my travel companion Cesar and that sealed the deal on an 'idk if this will be cool but let's try it' evening of fun!
Upon walking in we were greeted with a glass and mingled with the other attendees before entering a whole new world.
I can't be too certain from where, but this woman had a lovely accent which made it feel like we were in for a James Bond kind of night. I'd be right...
The first room we entered was a black box with, what can best be described as, an abstract video of the cognac making process. Pictured above and below showcased the ingredients used. Between the fragmented video and the casing, it felt vaguely remnant of a horror movie minus the horror. PS - I LOVE horror movies so I was already excited, and then I walked into the next room.
Cue even more excitement! There was food, and drinks and it felt like we walked into a forest. A magical forest with all of my favorite things! 😍 We were then lead through a mini science experience/contest for closest true formula but seeing as I'm not really competitive, like at all, I decided to let others play the game while I scooted the hummus closer to me...nom nom nom...
We were then led to another handsome tour guide who talked about the barrel/aging process. Between his super endearing and obvious love for the job and the local artisan leather-maker behind me I was giving mental props all around...
If y'all thought I was excited for the hummus imagine my heart flutter when I saw this spread! AND it all tasted even better than it looked. The point here was to bring out the flavors of the cognac, but they had me at macaron. I believe I believe!!
The last room was living room style and they topped us off with one last cocktail. We got a final cheers and savory sip in and just like that is was over as soon as it began.
I seriously cannot express enough what an impeccable event this was, from start to finish, timing of room to conceptual creativity. I left inspired, learnt, and satisfied.
Double BONUS: This was the day before I was there. 😶 I almost got to meet these cool kids!! But alas, I take comfort knowing I got to live like them if only for a night. hehe
